Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Seattle 
Your USA holiday starts with a flight from the UK to Seattle, which is beautifully located between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains. o­n arrival transfer independently to your downtown hotel.
Overnights(2): Seattle

Day 2 - Seattle
Explore the waterfront and catch the sunset from atop the famous Space Needle which dominates Seattle's skyline.

Day 3 - Seattle - Lake Quinault (250 miles)
Collect your hire car from downtown and drive to the Olympic Peninsula, a scenic wilderness area extending from glacier-clad mountains to ocean shore. Here you can explore o­ne of the largest and most beautiful rain forests in North America.
Overnight(1): Lake Quinault

Day 4 - Lake Quinault - Port Angeles / Lake Crescent (90 miles)
Today you will drive around the peninsula to Port Angeles. You will pass by marvellous beaches and a short detour will enable you to visit an ancient Indian village.

Day 5 - Port Angeles - Victoria (120 miles)
A ferry will bring you across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Victoria, a charming city that retains a colonial flavour in architecture and traditions. Visit the Parliament Buildings and enjoy the lively harbour area full of entertainment and shopping or join the afternoon tea crowd at the Empress Hotel which is said to epitomize early Victoria.

Day 6-7 - Victoria - Vancouver (50 miles)
A fascinating ferry crossing, which meanders past many islands, brings you to the lovely city of Vancouver. Full of shops and restaurants, parks and paths, museums and beaches, Vancouver is Canada's third largest city and the fastest expanding. Experience the different neighborhoods and the range of cultures in this lovely city.

Day 8 - Vancouver - Kamloops (225 miles)
You will drive through the Cascade Mountains to Kamloops, which was settled at the confluence of two rivers. The town is o­ne of the largest of interior British Columbia.

Day 9-10 - Kamloops - Banff (310 miles)
An entire day to explore the Banff National Park. Activites include hiking, float trips o­n the Bow River, drives to Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway. Today's drive takes you though the beautiful mountain landscapes and leads over the famous Rogers Pass to Banff National Park where you will spend the next 2 nights.

Day 11 - Banff - Waterton National Park (310 miles)
Today you can choose between two routes to get to your destination. You can either follow an historic trail and visit the Bar U Ranch, the Heads-Smashed-In-Buffalo Jump and Fort MacLeod, or go straight to Waterton and enjoy the beauty of that park.

Day 12 - Waterton - Glacier National Park - Missoula (166 miles)
Today takes you back to the USA and Glacier National Park. You'll have time to take a scenic drive through Glacier and then continue o­n throught Whitefish and Kalispell. o­n the way to a scenic drive along the shores of Flathead Lake. Before reaching Missoula you pass by the National Bison Range, where you may catch glimpses of bison, elk, big horn sheep and mountain goats. Overnight in Missoula, the cultural centre of Montana.

Day 13 - Missoula - Big Sky (241 Miles)
Your morning drive from Missoula will bring you to Big Sky Resort, a favourite Rocky Mountain Ski Resort and summer gateway to Yellowstone. Big Sky offers beautiful scenery and lots of activites including zipline, whitewater rafting, biking, hiking and horse back riding.

Day 14-15 - Big Sky - Yellowstone (60 miles to the Park Entrance)
From Big Sky it's just a little over an hour's drive to reach Yellowstone western park entrance. You'll have two full days to explore Yellowstone, the world's first National Park. Old Faithfull may be Yellowstone's most famous geyser, but it shares the spotlight with more than 300 others. You can get close to the mud pot's, hot springs and geysers o­n interpretive paths and trails throughout the park and the terraced limestone formations at Mammoth Hot Springs defy your imagination. Herds of Bison are known to stop traffic. Other wildlife found in the park includes elk, moose, black and grizzly bear and wolf. Yellowstone Lake is surrounded by forests and mountain peaks where sightings of bald eagles and ospreys are common.

Day 16 - Yellowstone - Twin Falls (335 miles)
On your drive to Twin Falls you will have the possibility to explore a couple more parks - Grand Teton National Park which offers some of the most stunning scenery in the United States and Craters of the Moon, an astonishing landscape of vast lava fields studded with cinder cones.

Day 17 - Twin Falls - Pendleton (355 miles)
Today you will drive along Interstate 84 which follows nearly the same trace as its wagon-cut ancestor - the Oregon Trail.The Old West is still alive along the Oregon Trail and in and around Pendleton.

Day 18 - Pendleton - Portland (210 miles)
On your drive to Portland you follow the Columbia River and drive through the Columbia River Gorge. The Columbia River is the second larged river in America and it is the border between Washington and Oregon. o­n the Washington side of the river you'll find a number of wineries worth stopping at for a taste. Cross the river o­n the Oregon side to enjoy the scenic Columbia Gorge Highway with its many scenic viewpoints, waterfalls and hiking trails. The Gorge is also well-known for its natural wind tunnel making it ideal for windsurfing, kite boarding and sailing. Tonight arrive in Portland where you'll spend two nights.

Day 19 - Portland 
Enjoy the day in Portland voted America's best city for its location, cultural and recreational possibilites and the high quality of food and dining throughout the region. You may also want to venture out to the countryside and rolling hills and vineyards of the Willamette Valley, home to more than 200 wineries and recognized as o­ne of the premier Pinot Noir producing areas in the world. 

Day 20 - Portland - Mount Rainier/Mt St Helens (190 miles)
On the way to Mount Rainier there is time for a fascinating detour to Mount St. Helens whose peak was ripped off by a powerful eruption o­nly two decades ago. The towering, ice-clad Mount Rainier is a striking landmark in the Pacifc Northwest

Day 21 - Mount Rainier / Mt St Helens
Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level. Mount Rainier stands as an icon in the Washington landscape. An active volcano, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contigunos USA spawning six major rivers.

Day 22 - Mount Rainier/Mt St Helens - Seattle  (80 miles) - UK
Time for final sightseeing in the Seattle area before returning your hire car at the airport and catching your flight back to the UK.
