Day 1 - UK - Boston 

Your holiday to Southern New England begins with a scheduled flight with Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow to Boston. On arrival transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Take dinner in the hotel or one of the nearby restaurants. 

Overnights (2): Boston - XV Beacon Hotel 

Day 2 - Boston 

Boston is the cradle of the American Revolution, and sites from early American history are visible all around; a great way to see them and the city itself is by walking the 3-mile Freedom Trail which winds among tight, Colonial-era streets. Take a Harbour Cruise or visit the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum.

Day 3 - Boston - Williamstown - Lenox - Stockbridge (202 miles)

Visit the Clark Art Museum in the town of Williamstown before heading for Lenox, a small but vibrant New England Town, which in an area called Tanglewood is the summer home of the Boston Symphony. Your overnight stay is in the town of Stockbridge, the home of the artist, Normal Rockwell.

Day 4 - Stockbridge - Hancock - Stockbridge (52 miles)

Learn about life at the Hancock Shaker Village, the utopian village known as Hancock Shaker Village continues its life today as a history museum with 20 authentic buildings, a working farm and significant collections of Shaker furniture and artefacts.

Day 5 - Stockbridge - Litchfield County - Colebrook (39 miles)

Meander through antique shops and house museums upon your arrival into Colebrook, the area is popular for fly fishing, canoeing and horseback riding.

Overnights (2): Colebrook - Rock Hall Hotel 

Day 6 - Colebrook - Hartford - Colebrook (63 miles) 

Hartford is the capitol of Connecticut and is one of the oldest cities in the United States. It is the location of the former home of the author Mark Twain, he wrote many of his famous books in the city and raised his family there. 

Day 7 - Colebrook - Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry - Southampton (129 miles)

Board the ferry at Bridgeport for the short sailing to Port Jefferson on Long Island, travel along the South Fork through charming villages with boutiques and art galleries. Southampton is your base for the next 3 nights.

Overnights (3): Southampton - Southampton Inn 

Day 8 - 9 - The Hamptons

Relax on beautiful beaches, visit Wineries along the North Fork of Long Island and tour historic mansions.

Day 10 - Southampton - Orient Point/New London – Newport (119 miles)
Return to Connecticut and Southern New England today on the Orient Point / New London ferry and then head into Rhode Island and the town of Newport. Newport is famous for its Gilded Age mansions, the legacy of 12-metre yachting and its many music festivals, from jazz and folk to classical music.

Overnights (3); Newport - The Vanderbilt Grace Hotel

Day 11 – Newport

Drive along Ocean Drive this morning and tour Millionaires Row with its mansions from a golden age. 

Day 12 - Newport - Plymouth - Boston (98 miles)

Visit Plymouth and the famous Plymouth Rock, board the Mayflower 2 and tour Plimouths Plantations 1627 village to learn about the pioneers who travelled across the Atlantic to the new lands, return to Boston Airport this afternoon to return your hire car and check in for your flight home.
