Itinerary

Day 1 - UK - Atlanta
Your holiday to the begins with scheduled flight's with United Airlines from London Heathrow or Manchester. On arrival at Atlanta Hartsfield's Airport collect your rental car and make your way to your overnight hotel.

Day 2 - Atlanta
Atlanta is the birthplace of Martin Luther King, established in 1968 by Coretta Scott King, The King Center is the official, living memorial dedicated to the advancement of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., leader of America’s greatest nonviolent movement for justice, equality and peace.  More than 650,000 visitors from all over the world are drawn annually to the King Center to pay homage to Dr. King, view unique exhibits illustrating his life and teachings. Atlanta is also the headquarters of Coca Cola, take a visit to its museum - the world of Coca Cola.

Day 3 - Atlanta - Blue Ridge (209 miles) 
Head north this morning and stop in the town of Blue Ridge located approx 90 miles from Atlanta and take a  trip on board the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway which travels along the Toccoa River ( Subject to schedules). Continue your journey into Tennessee and arrive into the town of Gatlinburg, Gatlinburg is nestled at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America, take a walk along the downtown parkway this evening for its many restaurants, bars and shopping.

Day 4 - Blue Ridge - Chattanooga - Nashville (268 miles)

After a hearty breakfast this morning, stop in the town of Chattanooga and visit the world famous Chattanooga Choo-Choo before arriving this afternoon in the city of Nashville, the home of country music.

Day 5 - Nashville
Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is the definitive home of America’s music, safeguarding more than 2.5 million priceless artifacts, including countless recordings and photographs, numerous stage costumes, musical instruments, and more.

Day 6 - Nashville - Memphis (212 miles)
After leaving Nashville this morning, visit the Belle Meade Plantation, built since 1807 it tells the story of life in the deep south before arriving into Memphis late afternoon, Spend your first evening on Beale Street with its many great restaurants and bars with live entertainement.
Overnights(2): Memphis - Peabody Memphis

Day 7 - Memphis
Memphis is known as the homeplace of Elvis, take a ride outside the city and visit his family home - Gracelands. Visit the visitor centre before crossing the road and travelling up the drive to the front door. You will see the jungle room and many outside buildings house the various artifacts, jumpsuits and records from his life. You can also visit the garden where Elvis has been laid to rest.  In the afternoon visit Sun Studio, where Elvis, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison amongst others recorded many hit records and albumns.

Day 8 - Memphis - Indianola - Natchez (300 miles)
Take a lunchtime break in Indianola and learn about BB King and the Blues at the BB King Museum, then continue along the Delta's back roads to Natchez, Take a stroll around town; watch the sunset from the Bluff Gazebo, then pop into any of the fabulous downtown area restaurants for a relaxing dinner.

Day 9 - Natchez
Spend the day touring the many plantation and antebellum houses in the area, after lunch Take the short drive out to The Grand Village of the Natchez Indiands and stroll the hallowed ground of the home of the city’s original inhabitants. There are ceremonial mounds at the site, along with a replica of an Indian dwelling, and a museum complete with artifacts that have been recovered on and around the site over the years.

Day 10 - Natchez - New Orleans (207 miles)
Crossing from Mississippi into Louisiana takes you past many plantations on route before arriving in the French influenced city of New Orleans. Check into your hotel and take a walk into the French Quarter for Gumbo and Cajun food whilst listening to cool jazz music in one of the restaurants in the district.

Day 11 - New Orleans
Tour the Garden and Arts District, visit the Aquarium of the America's alongside the river, this evening why not take a dinner cruise onboard an authentic paddlewheeler along the Mississippi.

Day 12 - New Orleans - Mobile (146 miles)
A New day - A New State - Alabama. Visit Mobile Bay and learn about life on board a US Navy Battleship in World War 2 by visiting the USS Alabama, a battleship built in 1940. This evening why not enjoy fresh seafood whilst taking views of the bay.
Overnight(1): Mobile - Battle House Renaissance Hotel

Day 13 - Mobile- Montgomery (168 miles)
Montgomery is the capital of Alabama and is famous for the Rosa Parks Story and being one of the birthplaces of civil rights in America. You can visit many locations and musems dedicated to the story. Also visit the King Memorial Baptist Church, in this National Historic Landmark, see the modest pulpit where Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. first preached his message of hope and brotherhood. This church was also a center point of the Montgomery bus boycott. A large mural in the church depicts King’s civil rights crusade from Montgomery to Memphis.
Overnight(1): Montgomery - Hampton Inn & Suites

Day 14 - Montgomery  - Atlanta - UK (160 miles)
Enroute to Atlanta, why not stop at the Tuskegee Airman, national historic site. The famous "Red Tails" became one of the best fighter squadrons in World War 2 before arriving at Atlanta Airport to return your hire car and check in for your flights home.
