Lighthouse Trail/Lunenburg, NS (143 mi)
On the Lighthouse Route, travel to Wedgeport, o­nce known as the Sport Tuna Fishing Capital of the World. Take a full day to enjoy the treasures of the Lunenburg area. In 1995, ‘Old Town’ Lunenburg was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Houses, businesses, churches and public buildings from the late 1700’s and early 1800’s are still being used today. The history of the fishing industry has been captured in the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic.

Peggy’s Cove/Halifax, NS (61 mi)
Depart for Halifax this morning, stopping in Mahone Bay to see the three picturesque churches sitting side by side. Make a side trip to the New Ross Farm, a working farm museum. Continue to Chester, a yachting mecca, and o­n to Peggy’s Cove. Here, you can send a postcard from Canada’s o­nly operating post office in a lighthouse! Then, discover Halifax. This was the site of the first British town in Canada, founded in 1749.
